Peter Jost, owner and chocolatier of Pierre Chocolat is one of those uncommon individuals who has fulfilled his dream of becoming a chocolatier and pastry chef.

Peter attended the French Culinary Institute in New York City, where they are known for their intense training programs. After months of vigorous pastry techniques, Peter went on to graduate top of his class. His honor was well deserved as he went on to create some of the most imaginative pastry pieces in his class.

Jacques Torres, the dean of the Pastry Arts at the French Culinary Institute and former chef at Le Cirque, hired Peter as the production manager at his New York City site shortly after graduation. Peter’s passion for learning grew as he became involved in the production process. He has taken his learned skills in major production and translated them to Pierre Chocolat.

Peter’s appreciation for French pastries was taken a step further when he traveled to France to get a first hand experience of the culture. He has since travled to Paris several times to explore the ideas and history behind his passion. Not only did he get a taste for the culture, but he brought back some of the ideals and characteristics of the French pastry tradition.

Pierre Chocolat was then created from Peter’s passion for the pastry arts. A little piece of Paris is now among us. All of the chocolates, pastries, cakes and other desserts are handmade on our premises. We take the time and energy to hand-make every item in our specialty lines; this way they are more memorable to your taste buds.
